Job summary

D2 Technical Services is seeking a Cloud Engineer with an active TS/SCI security clearance to support an intelligence customer in Springfield, VA. The engineer will automate deployments, optimize performance, and maintain security protocols within an AWS environment.

You will work in an Agile setting, contribute to design and implementation of features, mentor juniors, and ensure robust monitoring and testing practices across the stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years IT experience.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent security certification.
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services.
• Experience in scripting with Bash, PowerShell, or Perl.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiar with DevOps and CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus.
• Extensive TypeScript/JavaScript background.
• Containerization with Docker; Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with REST APIs and PaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Work with A&A Team to maintain security requirements for operation of systems.
• Maintain and improve infrastructure; autoscaling, new services, cost optimization.
• Produce detailed documentation.
• Maintain AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Load Balancer, RDS).
• Automate and optimize service deployments.
• Deliver full-stack web applications to production and resolve issues.
• Participate in requirements gathering with customers.
• Design/implement features independently with minimal oversight.
• Refactor legacy code for reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor junior developers.
