Job summary

CFD Research is seeking an AI/ML Engineer to build and deploy advanced AI/ML solutions that modernize mission systems and accelerate decision-making across national security environments. The role spans data processing, model development, MLOps, and integration of scalable AI capabilities into operational contexts.

You will work with NLP/LLM, computer vision, microservices, and cloud-native services, ensuring security, reliability, and performance in classified environments.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of ML model development in NLP/LLM, CV, deep learning or related areas.
• 2–6 years building AI/ML capabilities in a microservice stack.
• ACTIVE TS/SCI security clearance required.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Experience with data processing libraries and ML frameworks (NumPy/Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• CI/CD tooling and containerization (GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI/ML models including NLP, LLM pipelines, DL architectures, and CV models aligned to mission needs.
• Build scalable data pipelines to support training, evaluation, and continuous improvement of models.
• Develop end-to-end production components: microservices, APIs, automation frameworks, and cloud-native AI services.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into operational environments with strong focus on security and reliability.
• Conduct model optimization, tuning, versioning, and A/B testing for mission impact.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, participate in design reviews, and support accreditation in classified environments.
