Job summary

Turo Inc. is seeking an experienced Investigator with supervisory expertise to lead a team of Trust & Safety Investigators in the Phoenix office.

The role focuses on overseeing investigations related to vehicle crimes, critical incidents, and platform risks, with direct liaison to law enforcement and other authorities. You will manage hiring, onboarding, and training, coach team members, and develop investigative strategies to improve efficiency while ensuring data privacy compliance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervising or managing high-performing teams.
• 4+ years in an operational or investigative role, preferably within Trust & Safety.
• Strong investigative, analytical, and reporting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; cross-functional collaboration.
• Willingness to work weekends/holidays to support 24/7 operations and investigations.
• Knowledge of data privacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Trust & Safety Investigators responsible for conducting thorough investigations into vehicle crimes, critical incidents, and other platform risks.
• Provide active case management support, investigative guidance, and oversight to ensure investigative excellence and timely case resolution.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members while providing ongoing coaching and development to both junior and experienced investigators.
• Assess team capabilities, establish performance expectations, and coach individuals toward achieving performance goals and mastering advanced investigative techniques.
• Review investigative reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with departmental standards and data privacy regulations.
• Develop and implement investigative strategies and workflows to improve accuracy, reduce bottlenecks, and increase operational efficiency.
• Identify trends and patterns related to auto theft and other platform risks and communicate findings to Trust & Safety leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges and improve investigative processes.
• Serve as a point of contact for law enforcement agencies and external partners to gather evidence, support criminal investigations, and assist with asset recovery.
• Lead projects from inception to completion while maintaining team alignment, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.
• Foster a positive team culture by recognizing strong performance, encouraging collaboration, and empowering investigators to continuously improve.
• Provide leadership and investigative support during critical incidents, including occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
