Job summary

Turo, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Fraud Prevention in Phoenix to own the strategy and execution for user verification, identity fraud prevention, and pre-trip investigations.

You will architect systems and playbooks, collaborate with Product, Engineering, Legal, and Claims, and lead a multi-tiered team across verification and investigations. The role requires extensive experience in identity verification, fraud tooling, and risk-based decisioning, with a strong track record in building

Qualifications

• 12 to 15+ years of experience in fraud prevention, identity risk, Trust & Safety, or related fields, ideally with meaningful experience at a high growth two sided marketplace or consumer technology platform.
• 10+ years of people management experience, including experience managing managers and overseeing both in house teams and third party vendor environments.
• Deep expertise in identity verification, account fraud, document fraud, synthetic identity, account takeover, and pre transaction risk decisioning.
• Strong knowledge of fraud tooling vendors and the trade offs between building internal solutions and purchasing third party technology.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end strategy for user verification and identity fraud prevention, including verification tooling and risk scoring frameworks.
• Lead pre trip fraud investigations and define workflows, escalation protocols, and feedback loops with detection models.
• Build and lead a multi-tiered team across verification operations and fraud investigations with vendor management responsibilities.
