Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and maintain company equipment in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, read precision instruments, and perform diagnostic tests on trucks and trailers.

The role requires welding ability, tool ownership, and adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations. Expect training opportunities and a commitment to safe, reliable service across our fleet.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required).
• Knowledge of truck systems and electronics.
• Proficient reading of precision instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Willing to participate in company training and shifts as needed.
• Commitment to customer relations and safety.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns on trucks.
• Read precision instruments and electronic diagnostic tools.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of vehicle components.
• Weld when applicable to complete repairs.
• Follow DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
