Job summary

Ohio Peterbilt, a division of Ohio Machinery Co., is seeking an experienced Technician for our Cleveland location. You will diagnose failures and perform repairs to dealership and factory standards on Peterbilt trucks, under the supervision of the Service Supervisor.

You’ll mentor less‑experienced technicians, interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer reps, and customers, and stay compliant with EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines while maintaining a safe, clean shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational diesel/truck repair preferred.
• Four to six years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• CDL recommended; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose failures and recommend effective repair solutions.
• Perform repairs to dealership and factory standards.
• Work under the Service Supervisor and mentor less-experienced technicians as needed.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines; prioritize safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and report any safety concerns.

SECOND SHIFT

Job Summary

As an experienced Technician at Ohio Peterbilt, you'll be at the forefront of diagnosing failures and recommending effective repair solutions. You'll perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, you’ll work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles, receiving assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. You’ll also interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers and have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced technicians. Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines, is crucial. Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities, report any safety issues immediately, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. If anything changes in the appearance or condition of a vehicle, report it to department management immediately.

Job Qualifications

• Licenses: A CDL license is recommended; a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission.

Physical Requirements

• Manual Dexterity: Regular use of hands to handle, feel, and reach.
• Mobility: Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch; occasionally required to sit.
• Strength: Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds.
• Vision: Specific vision abilities include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment: The noise level can vary from quiet in office settings to moderate or loud in other situations, with sudden loud noises possible.
