Job summary

Ohio Peterbilt, a division of Ohio Machinery Co., Canton, OH, is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose failures and implement repair solutions on Peterbilt vehicles. You’ll perform repairs to dealership and factory standards under the supervision of the Service Supervisor and collaborate with staff, manufacturers, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Education: high school diploma or equivalent; vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair.
  • Experience: four to six years of related experience or training.
  • Licenses: CDL recommended; valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Certifications: MX Engine, Cummins HD, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose failures and recommend repair solutions for Peterbilt vehicles.
  • Perform repairs precisely and in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Work under the Service Supervisor and interact with staff, manufacturers, and customers; mentor less-experienced technicians.
  • Adhere to EPA, OSHA, DOT regulations; prioritize safety and maintain a clean, organized shop; report changes in vehicle condition.

Shift: Second Shift | Shift Differential Available
Job Summary

As an experienced Technician at Ohio Peterbilt, you'll be at the forefront of diagnosing failures and recommending effective repair solutions. You'll perform repairs precisely and efficiently, adhering to dealership and factory standards. Under the supervision of the Service Supervisor, you’ll work primarily on Peterbilt vehicles, receiving assignments from the Service Writer/Advisor. You'll also interact with dealership personnel, manufacturer representatives, and customers and have the opportunity to mentor less-experienced technicians. Staying informed about and complying with federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, OSHA, and DOT guidelines, is crucial. Prioritize safety in all shop and vehicle activities, report any safety issues immediately, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. If anything changes in the appearance or condition of a vehicle, report it to department management immediately.

Minimum Skills And Qualifications
  • Education:A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as is a vocational diploma or degree in diesel or truck repair.
  • Experience:Four to six years of related experience or training or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Licenses:A CDL license is recommended; a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Certifications:Preferred certifications include MX Engine, Cummins Heavy Duty, Cummins Mid-Range, Allison Transmission, or Eaton Transmission.
