Job summary

Kenworth Sales Company in Post Falls, Idaho is seeking a Service Advisor to generate, monitor and close repair orders and support the Service Manager with records. The role involves coordinating customer contact, estimating work, and ensuring timely service delivery in a busy shop environment.

• Must have a working knowledge of all heavy truck repair methods.
• Must be able to identify and meet Customer needs and requirements.

• Exceptional phone and customer service skills required.
• Appearance must meet the company image and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all customer contact with the Service Department, including repair estimates, service appointments, customer authorization on service orders, status-of-repair inquiries, payment terms and complaints.
• Generates and maintains all work orders and repair orders. Assists customer in identifying needed services and issues clear repair instructions.
• Coordinates with Service Manager to assure completion of work within time promised to customer and monitors progress of repairs.
• Calculates labor charges on flat rate repair orders and reviews charges on hourly rate orders; closes orders with Service Manager and transmits time cards to Payroll.
• Maintains timely, competent relations with service customers and analyzes quality control reports.
• Promotes the sales of labor, parts and accessories during customer contact and follows up on suggested repairs.
• Maintains up-to-date information on hourly service rates and service specials offered by competitors.
• Maintains technical bulletins and other service shop literature.
• Issues non-inventory purchase orders and receives orders as authorized.
• Controls cash box for Service Department and reports cash balances to credit Manager.
• Assists Service Manager in managing Service Department files and records and handles forms and correspondence.
• Monitors daily open repair orders and closes them promptly; coordinates with parts to avoid delays.
• Issues workers' compensation forms and directs injured employees to medical treatment, forwarding reports for processing.
