Wilsonart in Miami is hiring a Truck Driver I. You will conduct deliveries, load/unload, and keep logs in line with state and federal rules.

Required is a valid Class B CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements, 1+ years local experience, and a safe driving history. The role involves assisting in the distribution center and serving customers with professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Class B CDL with hazardous materials and tanker endorsements.
• 1+ years local driving experience with no major incidents in five years.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials as assigned.
• Drive truck to destinations and return safely.
• Maintain truck logs per regulations.
• Prepare and maintain required documentation.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Identify hazardous material trailers.
• Read maps and plan routes to load destinations.
• Maintain acceptable driving record.
• Assist customers and warehouse as needed.

Job Description:

Position Overview: Truck Driver I

Wilsonart, in Miami, currently has an opening for a Truck Driver I. This person conducts assigned deliveries and loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Loads and unloads materials
• Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
• Prepares and maintains required documentation
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies
• Performs emergency roadside repairs
• Positions hazardous material trailer identification
• Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination
• Maintains acceptable driving record
• Assists the needs of the customer
• Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed
• Performs other tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations
• Knowledge of truck hauling procedures
• Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures
• Skill in operating lift trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other rules/regulations governing work activities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license
• Hazardous material endorsement and Tanker Endorsement

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years
• Local experience
• No chargeable accidents or citations in five years

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Performing tasks with team members which includes lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs
• Continuous physical exertion such as walking and standing throughout the day is also required.

ENVIRONMENT

Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
