Qualifications

This person conducts assigned deliveries and loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Loads and unloads materials• Drives truck to destinations and returns safely• Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations• Prepares and maintains required documentation• Inspects truck equipment and supplies• Performs emergency roadside repairs• Positions hazardous material trailer identification• Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination• Maintains acceptable driving record• Assists the needs of the customer• Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed• Performs other tasks as requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operationsKnowledge of truck hauling proceduresKnowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling proceduresSkill in operating lift trucksAbility to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independentlyKnowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other rules/regulations governing work activitiesBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Graduate or GEDMust have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s licenseHazardous material endorsement and Tanker EndorsementEXPERIENCE1+ yearsLocal experienceNo chargeable accidents or citations in five yearsPHYSICAL DEMANDSPerforming tasks with team members which includes lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbsContinuous physical exertion such as walking and standing throughout the day is also required.ENVIRONMENTLocated in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
