Essential Functions

Truck Driving (90%)

• Reviews scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location.
• Organizes scheduled pick-ups by most direct routes to save time and fuel consumption.
• Assists Truck Helper in lifting and stacking donations in the truck.
• Prepares donation receipts for customers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
• Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
• Assists Truck Helper in unloading the truck at the warehouse.
• Delivers appliances and/or furniture as requested by customers.
• Drives to the dump and metal recycling center to dispose of non-useable donations.

Warehouse Work (10%)

• Assists in loading the bail truck.
• Assists in cleaning and maintaining the warehouse and loading dock area.
• Assists in working in all areas of the Family Store operations as needed.
• Performs special projects as needed.
• Performs other related work as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Knowledge, Skills High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required, and one year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities:
