Job summary

Wesco is hiring a non-CDL Truck Driver for Sparks, NV to learn distribution and supply chain techniques used by Fortune 250 companies. You will transport cargo, prepare delivery paperwork, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely service.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and at least 2 years of truck driving experience; candidate must be 18 or older. Training and development opportunities are provided.

  • Forklift experience (as noted)

Responsibilities

  • Transport cargo to and from specified destinations.
  • Prepare, receive, and provide delivery documentation for pickup or delivery.
  • Maintain contact with dispatcher to receive delivery instructions.
  • Verify contents of inventory loads with shipping papers and maintain records as required.
  • Perform basic emergency repairs as needed and assist with on-site maintenance.

A Day in The Life of a Truck Driver

As a Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. * Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Requires applicable truck driver license for state.

  • Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo
  • Maintain contact with dispatcher to receive instruction for delivery or pick up
  • Verify contents of inventory loads with shipping papers
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulations
  • Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs etc.,
  • Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded

Education & Experience
  • Valid Driver’s License, with a satisfactory driving record required
