Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a HVAC Truck Based Mechanic Foreman Technical Team Lead to balance hands-on service, customer communication, and field coordination on each service call. You will lead by example, mentor technicians in the field, and help deliver safe, reliable outcomes while ensuring work complies with all applicable codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Journeyman License required.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Demonstrated field leadership experience and ability to coordinate the work of other employees and contractors at customer sites.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Licenses to work with refrigerants.
• Boiler and steam operational and service knowledge.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a field service environment.
• Accurate documentation habits and strong customer-facing professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field activity for truck-based HVAC technicians and support the coordination of work at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of HVAC mechanical equipment and Building Control Systems.
• Provide Level 1 technical support and serve as an escalation point for more complex service issues.
• Coach and mentor branch technicians while supporting their technical development in the field.
• Support quoting, estimates, scheduling, service completion, and accurate project and service documentation.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams to provide practical solutions and outcomes at the time of service.
• Provide safety leadership and instruction to technicians and subcontractors while ensuring work meets applicable state, local, and federal requirements.
