Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Journeyman Technician to support the North America HVAC business. The role involves startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and aftermarket service for residential and ducted chillers, AHUs, and RTUs.

You will write clear customer-facing reports, provide quotes, and work with a union team to ensure top safety and performance. You’ll pursue STA training for product knowledge and sales quoting, while travel of 10–20% is expected to support branch customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of practical experience on residential and/or ducted HVAC products including air cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, AHUs, or RTUs.
• Ability to repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chiller components.
• EPA refrigerants license (Universal) and valid driver's license.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Travel 10–20% to support branch customers startup and commissioning activities and aftermarket service.
• Willingness to enroll in JCI STA training to gain HVAC product knowledge and sales quoting.
• Write and communicate clearly to customers about problems, causes and corrective actions.

Responsibilities
