Job summary

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, GA seeks an Upward Bound Program Coordinator to implement a US Department of Education TRIO Upward Bound grant. You will recruit first-generation students, coordinate tutoring, monitor progress, and manage data/reporting for compliance.

This role requires 2–5 years of TRiO-like experience, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to supervise multiple staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
• 2–5 years of work experience with TRiO or similar program targeting low-income, first-generation students
• Basic computer literacy with email, Word, and Excel
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to supervise 5–10 full-time summer and part-time staff
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Education or related field
• Experience with Federal grants (3–5 years)
• Experience with BLUMEN software

Responsibilities

• Identify and recruit first generation low-income students to meet project objectives
• Screen all new applicants for eligibility
• Assess participant needs and implement plans to provide academic support
• Plan cultural and educational activities for UB participants
• Coordinate workshops for UB participants
• Supervise summer staff
• Communicate with instructors and after-school program coordinators
• Supervise and approves time and effort for staff
• Ensure compliance with Minors on Campus policies
• Collect data for program evaluation
• Monitor expenditures and maintain grant compliance
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports
• Conduct staff evaluations
• Maintain student performance database
• Attend grant-related trainings and conferences
• Complete Annual Performance Report
• Performs other duties as assigned
