Job summary

Xavier University’s Office of Student Success seeks an Assistant Director, TRiO, Student Success, to lead counseling and advising for TRiO participants. You will monitor progress, coordinate tutoring and workshops, and partner with campus offices to promote retention and completion.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and 1–3 years of experience, with responsibilities spanning coaching, data tracking, and program development within the TRiO/SSS framework.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Student Affairs, Social Work, or related field.
• 1–3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic, professional and personal counseling and success coaching to students.
• Serve as primary academic advisor/success coach to a caseload of students and ensure regular meetings.
• Coordinate and implement academic writing and library workshops and activities; support tutoring programs and group sessions.
• Maintain advising logs and track progress; collaborate with faculty and staff to promote student success.
• Assist in training advisors on TRiO, SSS protocols, and retention strategies.
