Job summary

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts seeks a TRIO Student Success Advisor to provide individualized coaching and holistic support to TRIO scholars, including first-generation, low-income, or disabled students. The role combines academic advising with personal development support and coordination of events and program initiatives on campus.

You will maintain advising notes, help respond to inquiries, and contribute to promotion and planning of TRIO activities, with a focus on student success,

Qualifications

• Direct academic, vocational, or social support in advising/coaching in higher education.
• Sensitivity to first‑generation, low-income, or disabled students.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and holistic coaching to a caseload of TRIO scholars.
• Greet and assist students who drop in; manage inquiries and communications.
• Help students design and implement success plans and monitor progress.
• Maintain awareness of supports and provide guided referrals to campus offices.
• Assist students in developing self-awareness and self-efficacy.
• Develop time management and organizational skills with students.
• Document advising notes and maintain TRIO program data.
• Contribute to planning and delivery of events and programs for TRIO scholars.
• Participate in outreach and promotion efforts to raise TRIO awareness.
