Job summary

Wolf Tree, Inc. is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor crew in Bristol, VA. The role involves pruning and removal for major electric utilities, operating chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, and working closely with a foreperson and ground crew.

The job offers on-site work with opportunities for advancement, paid time off, health plan, and an employee-owned company culture. Prior line clearance experience and certifications are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is required.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree orientation on hire.
• Ability to complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake is preferred.
• Line clearance/tree work experience is preferred.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law are preferred.
• ISA/TCIA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Prune and remove trees for major electric utilities safely.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs or objects.
• Apply tree knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment: chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Job Responsibilities

We are currently looking to add a dynamic utility tree trimmer to our passionate team of utility line clearance professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
