Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor team. Work is performed on-site with frequent climbing using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, supporting major electric utilities.

Responsibilities include pruning, removal, and equipment operation, with growth opportunities based on performance. Qualifying candidates should love the outdoors, complete company orientation, and hold a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).

Qualifications

• Outdoor work enthusiasm and willingness to work outdoors.
• Must be able to complete the Davey Tree orientation program on hire.
• Must be able to complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Perform tree pruning and removal safely for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
