Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor team in Stanton, KY. The role involves climbing with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems and performing safe pruning and removal for major electric utilities.

You will work closely with a crew, maintain equipment, and contribute to a safer, more reliable power infrastructure. Requirements include a valid driver’s license, with CDL-A/B and airbrake endorsements preferred.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid and CPR on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
