Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a Manager to deliver accounting and grant management services to Tribal government clients. You will provide ongoing accounting, monthly closings, grants management, and reporting to senior leadership.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients to improve processes, develop policies, and ensure accurate financial reporting. Occasional travel to client sites and industry events is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including commitment to exceptional client service via multiple channels.
• Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients; ensures timely client deliverables.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Works with clients to understand current practices, identify improvement opportunities, and help develop updated policies and procedures.
• Performs project startup activities, follows project work plans, adheres to schedules, and attends kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during the audit process and helps prepare for audits.
• Assists with growing the practice; reviews work for accuracy; collaborates with the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences.
