Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to deliver accounting and consulting services to Tribal governments, including monthly closings, grants management, and financial reporting. You will prepare client deliverables, help define new policies, and collaborate across teams to improve processes.

The role involves occasional travel to client locations and industry trainings, with a focus on high-quality client service and building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, including nonprofit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including commitment to exceptional client service across multiple channels.
• Ability to analyze problems, think critically and identify creative solutions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of juggling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Collaborative and able to work across functions and build trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting, grants management, and financial reporting for Tribal governments.
• Prepares polished client deliverables and ensures timely delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand current practices and define updated processes and policies.
• Performs project start-up activities and adheres to work plans and schedules.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps them prepare.
• Contributes to growing the consulting practice.
• Reviews the work of self and team for accuracy.
• Occasionally travels to client locations or trainings.
