Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP seeks a Manager to support Tribal government clients by delivering accounting and grant management services within our Consulting practice. The role includes monthly closing, grants reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.

You will develop policies, collaborate across teams, and help grow the practice while ensuring high-quality client service. Travel to client sites and events is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not-for-profit/government experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with commitment to excellent client service via multiple methods.
• Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills; capable of handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Self-directed with strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients and ensures timely delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand current practices, identify improvements, and help update policies and procedures.
• Performs project startup activities, follows work plans, adheres to schedules, and attends kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps prepare for audits.
• Supports practice growth and reviews the work of self and team for accuracy.
• Serves as an integral member of the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, trainings, or conferences.
