Job summary

Houston area law firm is seeking an experienced Trial & Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of complex litigation, with a focus on trial preparation and attendance.

You will assist with depositions, hearings, arbitrations, and trials, manage exhibits, witness materials, and trial binders, and prepare legal documents. Strong organizational skills and Texas court knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of litigation and trial experience required.
• Paralegal certificate, ABA-approved paralegal education, or equivalent legal training preferred.
• Significant experience supporting attorneys in personal injury litigation and/or trial-focused litigation strongly preferred.
• Experience independently managing cases from inception through trial.
• Strong knowledge of Texas state and federal court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines.
• Notary Public certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support from case receipt to post-trial proceedings.
• Support attorneys handling personal injury and other complex litigation matters, including catastrophic injury and liability-related cases.
• Assist with all aspects of trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness materials, developing trial binders, and coordinating logistics.
• Assist attorneys in preparing for and participating in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Prepare, draft, edit, and proofread motions, subpoenas, petitions, notices, and other legal documents.
• Monitor state and federal court dockets and ensure compliance with applicable procedural and filing requirements.
• Prepare and coordinate discovery requests and responses.
• Review, analyze, and summarize medical records, incident reports, photographs, expert materials, and other large volumes of case information.
• Assist with the preparation of deposition materials, including deposition exhibits, summaries, chronologies, and witness files.
• Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, medical providers, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other parties.
• Assist attorneys with case-related research and document analysis.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures.
• Utilize litigation support and document management systems to organize, track, and retrieve case information.
• Source, verify, and compile relevant case information and documentation.
• Anticipate attorney’s needs and proactively assist with case preparation and deadlines.
