Job summary

The Houston-area law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will have a degree and/or a paralegal certificate, as well as 4 or more years of litigation experience.

Responsibilities include drafting pleadings and court documents, conducting legal research, preparing for trial, coordinating deadlines, and maintaining case files. Proficiency with MS Office and legal case management software is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 4 or more years of professional experience as a litigation paralegal.
• Experience with healthcare insurance collections is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Gather, organize, and maintain case-related documents from clients, witnesses, experts, and third parties.
• Conduct legal research, including reviewing statutes, regulations, case law, and precedents.
• Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and other documents for attorney review.
• Prepare and file court documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
• Coordinate case calendars, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely filings.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and depositions.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
