Job summary

gpac is seeking a motivated Plaintiff Workers' Compensation Attorney with 2–6 years of experience to join our Chicago team. This position offers hands-on trial-focused work and the chance to manage a robust caseload while developing litigation skills.

The ideal candidate will hold a JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice in Illinois. Strong written and verbal communication, along with excellent organization, are essential as you advance cases from intake through pre-trial

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois with 2–6 years of experience in plaintiff workers' compensation and/or personal injury.
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
• Experience handling cases from intake through pre-trial preparation; trial experience not required but preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of workers' compensation matters from inception through pre-trial stages.
• Conduct case investigations, evaluate liability and damages, and develop case strategy.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, and expert witnesses.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
• Prepare cases thoroughly for trial, including pre-trial motions, mediation, and trial strategy.
• Collaborate with support staff and other attorneys to ensure efficient case handling.
