Job description

We Are Hiring
  • Department: Triage - Family Practice & Specialty
  • Schedule: 0.5 FTE | 20 hours a week | Part-time | Varied shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • Hospital: Remote
  • Location: Remote (WI Candidates Only)
What You Will Do

Provide patients with nursing support by telephone.

  • Prepare documentation and transmit medical information.
  • Provide non-judgmental triage and/or advice using the nursing process, specific protocols, and established resources.
  • Direct callers to appropriate levels of care and provide healthcare advice/education using assessment skills, approved guidelines, and knowledge of self-care practices.
  • Select and deliver appropriate follow-up materials.
  • Provide professional, safe, and effective care-related advice to patients.
What You Will Need

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at the time of hire.
Additional Preferences

Prior triage experience is highly preferred for this role.

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience and EPIC experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate for this telephone triage position.
