Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a Trimmer who will perform ground-level and elevated pruning to maintain clearance around power lines. You’ll operate chainsaws and related gear, assist with site setup, and support safety protocols while traveling as required.

The role requires 12+ months on tree crews, climbing capability, and certification readiness; Lewis offers ESOP, paid training, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience on tree crews as a Trimmer Trainee.
• Knowledge of tree species and arboriculture pruning techniques.
• Ability to perform work at heights and use climbing gear or aerial lifts.
• Trimmer certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL, and medical certification as required.
• CPR and First Aid certification provided by Lewis.
• Maintain training and licenses for safe herbicide use.
• Strong teamwork, communication and situational awareness.
• Comply with all applicable state, local, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ground-level and aloft pruning, felling and vegetation removal to maintain clearance around power lines.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, and similar equipment; rig and lower limbs as needed.
• Assist with job-site setup, maintenance, rigging, traffic control and cleanup.
• Support safety by spotting climbers and communicating hazards.
• Apply herbicides per company and legal guidelines.
• Drive and operate trucks and specialized equipment with required certification.
• Participate in job briefings and follow safety protocols.
• Travel as needed, including potential overnight stays.
