Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is seeking a motivated Trimmer to join our outdoor teams, building skills in utility vegetation management while supporting tree trimming and line clearance for utility clients. This employee-owned company emphasizes growth, safety, and internal promotions and offers ESOP benefits.

You’ll perform ground and elevated pruning, operate chainsaws and chippers, assist with job site setup and safety, travel as needed, and meet certification and license requirements.

Qualifications

• 12+ months experience on tree crews as a Trimmer Trainee.
• Basic knowledge of tree species and pruning techniques.
• Ability to work at heights with climbing gear or aerial lifts.
• Trimmer Certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL and medical certification as required.
• CPR and First Aid certified (provided by Lewis).
• Acquire and maintain training/licenses for herbicides.
• Strong teamwork and safety awareness.
• Compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ground-level and aloft pruning, felling, vegetation removal near power lines.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, and related equipment.
• Assist with job site setup, maintenance, rigging, traffic control, and site cleanup.
• Support site safety by spotting climbers and communicating hazards.
• Apply herbicides per company guidelines and laws.
• Drive and operate trucks and specialized equipment (certification required).
• Participate in job briefings and follow safety protocols.
• Travel as needed for work, including overnight stays.
