Job summary

Lewis Tree Service is hiring as a Trimmer to support utility vegetation management and tree trimming operations for utility companies and other clients. You will gain foundational skills while contributing to safe, efficient job sites.

Ideal candidates bring 12 months on tree crews, climbing or aerial lift capability, and certifications. This role emphasizes training, teamwork and safety in outdoor environments with potential travel.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months of experience on tree crews as a Trimmer Trainee.
• Basic knowledge of tree species and pruning techniques.
• Ability to perform work at heights and use climbing gear or aerial lifts.
• Certification or ability to complete Trimmer Technical Knowledge and Skills.
• Valid driver's license and CDL as required.
• CPR and First Aid certified (provided by Lewis).
• Acquire and maintain required herbicide training and licenses.
• Strong teamwork, communication and situational awareness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ground-level and aloft pruning, felling and vegetation removal to maintain clearance around power lines.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers and similar equipment; rig trees.
• Assist with job site setup, maintenance, rigging and safety.
• Support job site safety by spotting climbers and communicating hazards.
• Drive and operate trucks and specialized equipment (certification required).
• Travel as needed for work, including potential overnight stays.
