Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our New York tree care team. You will oversee daily field operations, supervise crews, manage equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while driving efficiency.

The role includes training staff to ANSI and company standards, coordinating scheduling, business development, and client proposals. You will lead fleet maintenance, manage budgets, and strive for high customer satisfaction and ethical service.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business Management or Arboriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent experience preferred.
• CTSP and/or ISA Certification desired but not required.
• Management experience in the tree care industry preferred.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Prior experience training employees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and create efficiencies with crews, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide training and guidance to field crews following ANSI and company standards.
• Monitor crew productivity to ensure goals and targets are met.
• Help manage fleet and equipment repair and maintenance.
• Sell and help deliver Plant Health Care solutions.
• Conduct business development, sales, and scheduling.
• Schedule and meet prospective residential and commercial clients to assess and propose tree care services.
• Follow up on open proposals, answer questions, and close sales.
• Hire, supervise, and retain field employees.
• Coordinate training to ensure field personnel are properly trained and licensed.
• Manage bid and budgeted hours.
• Arrange delivery of services.
• Manage customer satisfaction.
• Engage employees while upholding organizational ethical standards and reputation.
