Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking an Associate Payments Strategist to partner with Treasury Management Officers and Commercial Bankers to grow and retain a portfolio of commercial clients. You will engage with clients, analyze portfolios, and tailor treasury solutions to optimize cash flow and reduce risk.

This role emphasizes relationship management, consultative sales, and collaboration across internal partners to deliver a seamless client experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Treasury Management, Commercial Banking or Payments.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Strong ability to support sales efforts and manage client relationships.
• Working knowledge of treasury management products and solutions.
• Excellent communication, organization and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Treasury Management Officers, Commercial Bankers, Relationship Managers, and internal stakeholders to support client coverage, joint calling efforts, and relationship strategies.
• Serve as a day-to-day client contact for assigned relationships, building trusted relationships, maintaining engagement, and ensuring responsive follow‑up.
• Participate in client and prospect meetings to understand business objectives, cash flow processes, operational challenges, and opportunities to deepen relationships.
• Identify, structure, and support treasury management solutions across payments, receivables, fraud prevention, liquidity, commercial card, and digital channels.
• Prepare treasury reviews, pricing analyses, proposals, presentations, RFP responses, and other materials that support client recommendations and sales activities.
• Conduct portfolio reviews and monitor client activity to uncover revenue growth, retention, expansion, optimization, and risk‑related opportunities.
• Support pipeline development, opportunity tracking, CRM accuracy, deal documentation and progression of sales opportunities toward close.
• Coordinate onboarding, implementation, service, product, and follow‑up activities to help deliver a seamless client experience.
• Ensure adherence to applicable risk, compliance, documentation, and bank standards; proactively elevate issues and help drive timely resolution.
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of treasury management products, sales processes, industry trends, client industries, and financial workflows.
• Assist in achieving team sales, retention, revenue growth, and client satisfaction objectives.
• Other Duties: Perform tasks as assigned to support the team’s mission.
