Job summary

German American Bank seeks a Director of Treasury Management to lead and grow the customer-facing treasury management business. You will shape strategy, manage deployments of payments, receivables, liquidity, and fraud-prevention solutions, and partner across banking lines to deliver integrated, scalable services.

You will own the product lifecycle, supervise sales and service teams, and drive revenue and deposits while maintaining high-risk discipline and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in bank treasury management, cash management, or commercial banking, including leadership of sales teams (5+ years).
• Deep knowledge of commercial payments, receivables, liquidity solutions, fraud-prevention services, and commercial digital banking (ACH, wire, RDC, positive pay, etc.).
• Proven success growing treasury fee income, operating deposits, and product adoption through consultative sales and collaboration with commercial bankers.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to manage budgets and priorities, and influence partners across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year treasury management strategy and annual business plan aligned with deposit and revenue growth priorities.
• Manage treasury management financial performance, including revenue and expense budgets, pricing standards, and fee exceptions.
• Partner with Commercial Banking and other teams on coordinated plans, needs assessments, proposals, and relationship expansion.
• Own the treasury management product roadmap and lifecycle for ACH, wire, remote deposit capture, lockbox, positive pay, digital banking, liquidity, and merchant services; lead cross-functional launches.
• Maintain senior-level relationships with key customers, sponsor complex implementations, and coordinate solutions to improve retention.
• Lead treasury management sales and service teams; recruit, coach, and develop talent; build a collaborative, customer-focused culture with strong risk discipline.
• Establish end-to-end onboarding, implementation, training, and service standards with clear handoffs across Sales, Operations, and Technology.
• Coordinate with Technology, Operations, and third-party risk on vendor selection, SLAs, and business continuity testing.
• Provide executives with a regular business scorecard covering growth, profitability, pipeline, adoption, and risk; explain variances and actions.
• Coordinate training for treasury teams and marketing on product positioning and campaigns.
• Monitor market needs and innovations in faster payments and integrations; prioritize initiatives within risk and approval processes.
