Job summary

Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Treasury and Financial Services to lead treasury operations, student accounts, and the university’s bond portfolio. You will oversee liquidity, cash management, sponsor funds flow, and internal controls.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and CFO, you will provide strategic leadership for Student Accounts, banking relationships, and investment liquidity, while ensuring GAAP and ASC compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in treasury, finance, accounting, or financial services.
• Knowledge of GAAP, fund/governmental accounting principles, ASC.
• Experience overseeing cash management, banking relationships, and liquidity forecasting.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Oversee treasury functions, bond portfolio, and investment liquidity.
• Coordinate with CFO, banks, and external auditors on treasury and liquidity matters.
• Direct short-term investment and liquidity strategies to balance safety, liquidity, and yield.
• Prepare analyses on treasury performance, debt service, and liquidity strategy.
• Lead Student Accounts, billing, receivables, collections, refunds, and customer service.
• Ensure sponsored program funds flow compliance and audit readiness.
• Develop and lead finance teams; manage performance and succession planning.
• Support department-wide projects and provide reporting for leadership and Boards.
