Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking a field-ready Pole Inspector with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. The role focuses on learning inspection procedures, assessing wooden utility poles, and collaborating with inspectors to develop essential skills.

The position requires extensive travel, outdoor work in all weather, and adherence to safety standards while inspecting poles and related equipment across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Possess a current/valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no DUI/DWIs in past 5 years).
• Must pass criminal background check and a drug test.
• Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
• Able to work outdoors in all-weather conditions, lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities to manage safe operations of vehicle and equipment.
• Professional attitude representing the organization to clients and communities.

Responsibilities

• Undergo training to understand the basics of utility pole inspections, components, maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
• Learn and follow inspection procedures to evaluate the condition of utility poles including structural integrity, deterioration, pest infestation and weather-related damage.
• Assist in identifying potential issues with utility poles and contribute to developing a maintenance plan.
• Complete inspection records and report and follow appropriate codes and regulations.
• Collect field data and perform daily and weekly reporting activities.
• Maintain and update records on all tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment.
• Adhere to company and government safety regulations.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
