Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to lead on-site operations for retail construction, including ground-up, remodels, tenant improvements, and rollout programs. You will drive schedules, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, and ensure work aligns with plans and client expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of superintendent experience within retail construction.
• Experience managing ground up retail, remodel, or tenant improvement projects.
• Strong understanding of retail construction sequencing and scheduling.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades in active and occupied environments.
• Ability to manage subcontractors and maintain aggressive project schedules.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and construction management software preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in client facing environments.
• Travel experience preferred for regional or national retail programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage all on site construction activities from mobilization through turnover.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and daily field operations.
• Maintain project schedules and drive milestone completion in fast paced retail environments.
• Lead subcontractor meetings, site walks, and daily coordination efforts.
• Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and client expectations.
• Manage quality control, punch list completion, and final turnover processes.
• Coordinate deliveries, long lead items, and material staging in active retail environments.
• Identify and resolve field issues, sequencing conflicts, and schedule impacts.
• Enforce site safety requirements and maintain OSHA compliance.
• Work closely with project managers, clients, landlords, and store representatives.
• Oversee open store remodels while minimizing disruption to ongoing retail operations.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, progress tracking, and site documentation.

We are partnered with a retail construction general contractor delivering ground up, remodel, rollout, and tenant improvement projects for national and regional retail brands. The company focuses exclusively on retail construction environments including big box, grocery, restaurant, and open store renovation work. This role is responsible for leading field operations, driving schedules, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to client standards.

Role and Responsibilities
