Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a traveling Senior Special Systems Superintendent to lead installation across Data Centers, Pharmaceutical, Industrial, EV/Battery projects. The role requires coordinating with engineers, designers, and subcontractors to finish on schedule and within budget.

You will drive safety compliance, manage schedules, and oversee turnover from start-up through commissioning. A strong understanding of SD/DD/CD docs and QC is essential, with leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive construction design and field installation experience.
• Experience with installation of major Special Systems and IT infrastructure components.
• Knowledge of TIA/EIA and BICSI standards.
• Special Systems integration experience.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings and schedules.
• Knowledge of construction costs, scheduling and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Special Systems installation in compliance with contract documents, scheduling, logistics, quality control, field operations, WIP, and staffing levels.
• Develop Special Systems schedule, coordination and installation.
• Follow safety program with EH&S team and ensure subcontractors comply with Turner standards and regulations.
• Manage relationships with Special Systems subcontractors and trades across project operations.
• Lead coordination of Special Systems with HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection.
• Document and resolve Special Systems project issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and schedule.
• Identify and inform staff of difficult Special Systems installation requirements for proper planning.
• Oversee implementation of Special Systems mock-ups and testing, review, and approval.
• Ensure required Special Systems permits and insurance current for project duration.
• Liaise with Engineers, Designers, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Inspectors, owner reps to resolve issues.
• Create tools for monitoring Special Systems productivity and benchmark against schedule.
• Evaluate and approve subcontractor monthly payments with understanding of funds and labor.
• Participate in QC plan with Special Systems team.
• Oversee lessons learned and share with project leadership.
• Foster environment for coaching and process improvement within the team.
• Collaborate with VDC Engineer to ensure design compliance and turnover processes.
• Collaborate on turnover including start-up, testing, and closeout.
• May supervise Superintendents and participate in hiring and performance reviews.
• Other activities as assigned.
