Job summary

InfraHire in Connecticut is seeking a Solar Electrician to inspect, maintain, and repair photovoltaic systems, maximizing uptime and energy production. The role involves traveling to sites and performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

You will interpret schematics, operate DAS/SCADA, coordinate with crews, and document service activities while upholding OSHA safety standards during remote-site work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with solar PV/electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
• Able to travel frequently and work independently at remote sites.
• Knowledge of electrical safety procedures and OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair photovoltaic (solar) systems to maximize production.
• Travel to multiple solar facilities across Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, and occasionally Indiana and Georgia.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical, communication, and PV system components.
• Repair and replace inverters, modules, wiring, and related solar equipment.
• Use DAS/SCADA and testing tools to assess performance and identify issues.
• Read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, equipment manuals, and site drawings.
• Coordinate field activities and repairs with operations staff, contractors, and vendors.
• Accurately complete service reports, work orders, and maintenance documentation.
• Adhere to electrical safety procedures, OSHA standards, and industry best practices.
• Maintain tools, testing equipment, and supplies needed for service work.
• Respond promptly to service issues to minimize system downtime.
• Requires a valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently within assigned territory.
• Ability to work independently at remote sites and follow safe work practices.
