Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks a Commissioning Engineer to support utility-scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects across the United States. This position offers potential to convert to a full-time role.

You will lead commissioning from construction through commercial operation, develop testing procedures, and coordinate with multiple teams, including contractors and controls engineers. 100% travel is required.

Qualifications

2–3 years of commissioning experience in utility-scale solar projects.
Hands-on BESS commissioning experience is required.
Approximately 1–2 years of SCADA experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Ability to lead commissioning and coordinate with contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead commissioning activities from construction through commercial operation and handover.
Develop and execute commissioning plans, schedules, and testing procedures.
Coordinate with construction managers, contractors, automation teams, and controls engineers.
Perform commissioning and acceptance testing for project communications, networking, and control systems.
Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues to ensure on-time delivery.
Travel to project sites as required and support safe site operations.
