Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an entry-level Traveling Safety Supervisor to support large-scale construction projects, starting with a data center assignment in Independence, MO. The role requires 100% travel, with regular home time every other weekend.

You will lead on-site safety efforts, develop site safety plans, conduct inspections, and coordinate safety content for meetings and orientations across project teams. This is a demanding, hands-on safety career with growth potential.

Qualifications

• BS in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field.
• Willingness to travel 100% with biweekly home time.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site safety efforts on large-scale projects, collaborating with superintendents, managers, subcontractors, and client reps.
• Develop and ensure compliance with site safety plans.
• Track safety metrics and recommend improvements.
• Perform regular safety inspections and issue violations as necessary.
• Develop site-specific safety orientations and manage new worker orientations.
• Lead safety portions of preconstruction meetings and review hazards and mitigation plans.
• Attend subcontractor coordination meetings with site-specific safety content.
• Conduct site-wide safety standdowns, toolbox talks, and log attendance.
• Collect and manage subcontractor safety documentation (safety plans, fall protection plans, weekly TBTs, training certificates, etc.).
• Investigate incidents with subcontractors to identify root causes and corrective actions.
