Job summary

Phillips, Inc. seeks a Safety Specialist to work primarily in the field, traveling frequently to project sites under supervision of experienced safety professionals.

You'll support the Safety Manager by ensuring compliance, conducting inspections, and facilitating training. The role may assign you to specific projects as needed, and it requires heavy travel and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field.
• ASP or GSP certification preferred.
• At least two years in safety management, or five years in professional/technical safety management or electric utility operations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular walk-through inspections to ensure safety standards.
• Identify hazardous conditions and follow up on corrective actions.
• Prepare safety documentation and inspection reports.
• Collaborate with Safety Manager to plan inspections and manage safety supplies.
• Assist in investigations and compile data for required reports.
• Issue safe work permits for operations when needed.
• Support federal, state, and local safety inspections.
• Conduct onboarding and ongoing safety training for employees.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations.
