Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Safety Manager (Traveling) to provide regional safety leadership for our data-center-focused projects. Based in Cedar Rapids, IA, this role requires overseeing safety programs, incident investigations, and training while supporting field crews across multiple sites.

You will drive compliance with safety standards, coordinate inspections, and work with site teams to implement proactive safety measures in a fast-paced environment. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of construction safety experience.
• Data center construction experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Keep business informed of safety regulatory changes and implement in the field.
• Provide safety program guidance and recommendations to the management team.
• Support site inspections by third-party reps and OSHA inspectors.
• Coordinate safety inspections and verify corrective actions.
• Empower employees to stop work if unsafe until issues are resolved.
• Coordinate Safety Committee activities and promote a positive safety culture.
• Present incident investigation facts for Safety Accountability Committee.
• Communicate safety issues and best practices across the organization.
• Deliver high-quality safety training to staff.
