Job summary

Penn National Insurance is seeking a Loss Control Consultant to support commercial lines in the Maryland, Delaware and Philadelphia area. You will conduct on-site surveys and virtual consultations to evaluate operations, identify hazards, and recommend risk-reduction solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong safety/risk management background, excellent communication and analytical skills, and can manage multiple priorities with travel required, including overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, science or engineering from an accredited university preferred.
• Continuing education such as ALCM and ARM with certifications like ASP, CSP, CIH or OHST preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in property/casualty loss control with surveys and some consulting.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required reports and documentation pertaining to account visits for underwriting.
• Visit accounts’ facilities to understand operations and hazards and assess safety programs.
• Assess compliance based on OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI and local codes.
