Job summary

Penn National Insurance in the Maryland, Delaware, and Philadelphia area seeks a Loss Control Consultant to perform on-site loss control surveys and virtual consultations for commercial accounts. You will assess operations, identify hazards, and recommend practical risk controls while collaborating with underwriting, claims, and agents to support informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, science or engineering from an accredited university preferred.
• Certifications such as ALCM/ARM/ASP/CSP/CIH/OHST preferred.
• Minimum 1 year in property/casualty loss control, conducting loss control surveys and some consulting work on written accounts.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required reports and documentation for account visits to assist underwriting decisions.
• Visit accounts to understand operations, hazards, and effectiveness of safety programs.
• Evaluate safety programs against OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI and local codes.
• Conduct agency visits to promote loss control services and initiatives.
• Provide loss control consulting and on-site training when applicable.
