Job summary

Fortis Property Management is seeking a Property Operations Manager to provide temporary, multi-site operations support across residential communities, with the ability to cover vacancies, transitions, and special assignments.

You will lead onsite teams, monitor leasing, maintenance, and finances, ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, and travel frequently between properties to stabilize performance and resident experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of multifamily property management experience.
• Prior Property or Assistant Manager role in multifamily housing preferred.
• Skilled in leasing, budgeting, maintenance coordination, and resident relations.
• Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and housing rules.
• Proficiency with property management software (Yardi, RealPage, MRI, AppFolio).
• Computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership, multitasking, and communication abilities.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage communities temporarily based on business needs.
• Provide operational leadership during vacancies, transitions, and emergencies.
• Evaluate operations quickly to identify priorities, risks, and opportunities.
• Maintain the property's appearance, safety, and resident experience.
• Monitor leasing, maintenance, renewals, and collections.
• Lead onsite teams with daily coaching and oversight.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing and local regulations.
• Prepare and analyze property reports and budgets.
