Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Engineer to track and analyze cost data, ensuring projects stay on budget. This full-time traveling role supports Advanced Technology projects, including the Data Center market segments.

The candidate will review drawings, requirements, and schedules, provide input for work plans, monitor costs, and coordinate RFIs and invoicing while ensuring safety and compliance on site. Travel is involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years construction engineering experience.
• Experience in resource monitoring techniques (cost accounting, basic estimating).
• Specialized knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
• Ability to delegate work to engineering team to progress the project.

Responsibilities

• Meet with engineering and field crews to review production schedule and confirm materials and resources.
• Review shop drawings, design specs, material requirements and project data.
• Provide technical input for project work plan and scheduling.
• Identify budget and schedule risks that could impact cost or timing.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections to track performance.
• Update project schedule weekly for owner and management reporting.
• Prepare and manage a three-week work plan and inform of significant changes.
• Manage RFIs and maintain project communications.
• Remit accurate project quantities using cost coding for reporting.
• Coordinate invoicing with the accounting team for materials and subcontractors.
• Review certificates and permits needed for work.
• Review JHAs to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedule and crews.
