Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking a field-oriented Pole Inspector in Michigan to learn and apply inspection procedures for wooden utility poles. The role involves extensive travel, outdoor work in all weather, data collection, and maintaining records of tools and equipment.

You will undergo comprehensive training, follow safety protocols, and contribute to maintenance planning while ensuring adherence to regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Possess a current/valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.
• Must pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
• Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
• Ability to work outdoors, in a physically demanding environment and all-weather conditions, lifting up to 40lbs., and hiking over varied terrain.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities to complete tasks safely and manage vehicle/equipment.

Responsibilities

• Undergo training to understand utility pole inspections, components, maintenance techniques and safety protocols.
• Learn and follow inspection procedures to evaluate pole condition including structural integrity and signs of deterioration.
• Assist in identifying potential issues and contribute to a maintenance plan.
• Complete inspection records and report to regulations.
• Collect field data and perform daily/weekly reporting activities.
• Maintain records on tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and perform other duties as assigned.
