Job summary

Shields Health seeks a per diem Physician Assistant to support MRI services at multiple Massachusetts locations, including Brighton, Dedham, Framingham, Brockton and North Dartmouth. The PA collaborates with supervising radiologists and MRI technologists to deliver safe, high‑quality MRI procedures, including arthrograms and contrast administration.

You will assess patients, obtain informed consent, document findings in the medical record, and provide pre‑ and post‑procedure care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies or higher.
• Current Massachusetts Physician Assistant license.
• Certification by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or as required by policy.
• For fluoroscopy-guided arthrograms, meet MA requirements or complete required training/authorization.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical knowledge to provide safe, compassionate care.
• Performs arthrograms and image-guided procedures within scope and site privileges.
• Administers contrast media and medications per protocols and policies.
• Obtains informed consent and provides pre/post‑procedure care and education.
• Monitors patients during procedures and escalates to physician as needed.
• Maintains documentation in medical records accurately.
• Travels between Shields MRI locations as needed.
