Job summary

Suncoast Skin Solutions in Brandon, FL, seeks a skilled histology professional to maintain Mohs lab operations within a physician practice, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations governing histopathology labs.

The role involves receiving specimens, preparing slides, managing supplies, and operating laboratory systems, with travel to high-volume locations as needed to support Mohs throughput.

Qualifications

• AS or Bachelor's degree in science is required.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred.
• Ability to commute/relocate for travel to multiple Mohs lab locations.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens from surgical frozen diagnostic cases and ensure accurate identification.
• Maintain logbooks and inking, embedding, staining, and coverslipping for H&E diagnosis.
• Maintain par levels for lab supplies and submit reports to Lab Director promptly.
• Operate lab computer system to accession specimens and affix labels.
• Prepare cassettes and slides for tissue specimens and perform frozen section prep.
• Drive Mohs van and travel to high-volume locations as needed.
• Monitor quality control and maintain documentation per regulations.
• Keep work area clean and maintain equipment.
