Job summary

Suncoast is seeking a histologist to maintain efficient Mohs lab operations across Brandon and surrounding areas. The role involves receiving specimens, processing tissue, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a physician practice setting.

Responsibilities include preparing slides, maintaining supplies, and driving the Mohs van to high-volume locations with adherence to safety and quality standards. Candidates must have an AS or bachelor’s in science and be comfortable with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• AS or bachelor’s degree in science or similar required.
• Knowledgeable in computer programs, EMR systems, customer service, excellent verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive specimens from surgical frozen diagnostic cases and ensure accurate identification.
• Maintain logbooks and supplies for tissue processing.
• Operate laboratory computer systems to accession specimens and label containers.
• Prepare sections and slides for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
• Perform daily Quality Control and Quality Assurance tests and document results.
